Haytor Hoppa (Bus Service 271)
perfect for exploring Dartmoor

Every Saturday: 23 April – 29 October 2011

This is a circular, scenic bus service which covers the eastern side of Dartmoor - starting and finishing in Newton Abbot via Bovey Tracey.

Stops en route include Haytor Information Centre – with easy access to Haytor Rocks, the beautiful village of Widecombe-in-the-Moor, Houndtor Rocks, Manaton village, Becky Falls visitor attraction and Yarner Wood  – before returning to Bovey Tracey.

Hoppa Evening Excursions
This August you can also take advantage of the Hoppa Evening Excursions which include a guided walk and a visit to a local pub or cafe.
20 August - Haytor through the Ages and Dandelion cafe
03 September - Uncle Tom Cobley and all ( a tour of Widecombe) and Rugglestone Inn
10 September  - Capturing Dartmoor. A photography masterclass with Rob Hutchinson (Dartmoor Photos - external website, opens in a new window) and then visiting the Old Inn, Widecombe.
08 October - Dartmoor Legends (Kitty Jay and Bowerman's Nose) and Kestor Inn for a chance to try some Dartmoor Legend Ale!

Service starts at Newton Abbot train station at 1715 and returns by 2200.
This enables onward train connections to Exeter and Plymouth.
Price is only £6 pp for the bus and guided walk (discounts for groups of 4+ and children under 16)

Great for:

Daily fare from Newton Abbot (or Bovey Tracey) for hop on/off all day: £5 (£2.50) adult, £2 (£1) child (5-15 years), £10 (£5) family (up to 2 adults and 3 children – representing fantastic value for a car free day out on Dartmoor. Remember your dog is welcome aboard as well and only 25p for a standard journey

Departs Widecombe at    1027; 1227; 1457 and 1657

Finally:
Use your concession travel pass (except school passes), bring your dog aboard (25p standard journey), get a free guided walk if you arrive by public transport.
