Chagford Conservation Group
Clearing a Leat - Chagford Conservation Group

Formed in 2001 after a litter clearance arranged by the 'Keep Britain tidy group', the group has grown and now has about twenty five members with about ten members turning out to work on project days.

D.N.P  ranger Serina was our guide in early days when we concentrated mainly on footpath clearance. Now our projects are very varied and can be almost any Conservation work that benefits the Chagford  community.

Other  work includes such projects as  tackling invasive plants like knotweed, clearing the Chagford leats(man made drainage systems)helping the school with their wildlife garden, gorse clearance and hedgelaying.
We are  a cheerful volunteer group, open to all. meeting twice monthly for either a half day or full day projects.
