Transmoor Link (Bus Service 82) – perfect for exploring Dartmoor

This bus service travels across the High Moor between Moretonhampstead and Yelverton, giving you the best opportunity to see the changing landscape unfold before you.

Stops en route include:  Market town of Moretonhampstead, the Miniature Pony Centre visitor attraction, Postbridge (Information Centre and Bellever Forest), Princetown (High Moorland Visitor Centre, Dartmoor Prison, pubs, cafes) and Yelverton.

There are onward connections to Exeter and Plymouth from Moretonhampstead and Yelverton on Saturday and Thursday, whilst on Sunday there is a direct Transmoor Link No. 82 service from Exeter and Plymouth

Daily fare (hop on/off all day): £2 adult, £1 child (5-15 years), £5 family (up to 2 adults and 3 children)  – representing fantastic value for a car free day out on Dartmoor. Remember your dog is welcome aboard as well and only 25p for a standard journey   

On Sundays, don’t forget to buy a Dartmoor Sunday Rover ticket for £6.50 adult, £4.30 child, £16 family (up to 5 people), as you can enjoy unlimited travel on the bus and train network – simply buy on board the first bus you get on.

SATURDAY SERVICE
When:
April 3rd - October 30th 2010
Where:
Moretonhampstead to Yelverton
Departs Moretonhampstead at 0945; 1215; 1415; 16:15 and 1815
Departs Yelverton at  0855; 1125; 1325; 1525 and 1725
Costs
£2 per adult, £1 per child (5-15 years inclusive) or £5 for a family (up to 2 adults and 3 children)
Also:
Use a Stagecoach Explorer ticket from Exeter and beyond. The 359 links with the Transmoor link in Moretonhampstead
Travelling on from Yelverton? Plymouth and Tavistock are all serviced regularly.
Finally:
Use your concession travel pass (except school passes), bring your dog aboard (25p standard journey), get a free guided walk if you arrive by public transport.

THURSDAY SERVICE
When:
May 27th - September 16th 2010
Where:
Moretonhampstead to Yelverton
Departs Moretonhampstead at 0930; 1130 and 1330
Departs Yelverton at  1015; 1215 and 1415
Costs
£2 per adult, £1 per child (5-15 years inclusive) or £5 for a family (up to 2 adults and 3 children)
Also:
