 The bus service information provided below corresponds to scheduled bus services which pass (they are not all listed bus stops) or stop at these start point locations.  Whilst travelling across Dartmoor a hail and ride service operates where it is safe and practical for the bus driver to stop.  Bus time tables are available from Tourist Information Centres (including National Park Information Centres), Libraries and Post Offices.  Alternativley telephone 0871 200 22 33 or visit www.travelinesw.com

[1] Ashburton (SX 755 699) Meet by Tourist Information Centre, rear of  Town Hall opposite car park. Several bus services are available, please contact the information centre (01364 653426) or Traveline for details
[2] Bedford Bridge (SX 504 702) A386 between Tavistock and Yelverton. Car park near bridge just north of Horrabridge.  Entrance beside telephone box.   Bus Service 84, 83, 86.  This start point is located between the Whitchurch and Horrabridge timetabled bus stops.
[3] Bellever (SX 655 769). Near Postbridge turn off B3212 continue 1 mile (1.5km) towards Bellever.  Use main Forestry Commission car park with toilets.   Bus Service 98.  This bus stop is a short walk from the car park - follow the road downhill towards Bellever Bridge. Alternatively, bus service 82 will stop at Postbridge and then walk 1 mile towards Bellever.
[4] Belstone (SX 621 938). Meet in car park opposite Village Hall, north east of village centre.   Bus service 670
[5] Bel Tor Corner (SX 694 731). Car park on south side of road, north west of Poundsgate on the Ashburton – Dartmeet/Two Bridges Road. For an interactive visit to Higher Uppacott visit www.virtuallydartmoor.org.uk    Bus Service 272.  This is a request stop between Poundsgate and Dartmeet.
[73] Bovey Tracey (SX 814 781). Follow signs to Bovey Tracey from A38 Drumbridges roundabout, then the Information Centre is on the right in the car park before the bridge.  Meet at the Information Centre. Bus Service 271 (Haytor Hoppa) This is a hail and ride service and the route passes this car park. [63] Brimpts Farm (SX 668 738). Signed entrance on B3357 Dartmeet – Two Bridges road near Dartmeet. Meet in front of the Farmhouse. Bus Service 272.  This is a hail and ride service with the location between Two Bridges and Dartmeet.
[82] Burrator Quarry (SX 549 676). As you approach from Dousland use quarry car park south of reservoir on your left  before the Dam and Toilets.  Meet in the car park.   Bus service 48.  The bus stop is by the dam and toilets which is just after this car park.
[7] Cadover Bridge (SX 554 648). South of Meavy.  Park and meet in large car park south of bridge on left.
[8] Chagford (SX 701 874). Jubilee car park. Meet by Information Board.  An alternative car park may be offered by the guide on the day with the consent of the group.   Bus service 173 and 179.  The bus stop is in the square a short walk from the public car park
[9] Combestone Tor (SX 670 717). On the Holne - Hexworthy road mid way between Venford Reservoir and the Forest Inn.  Car park is on the north side of the road next to the Tor.
[11] Dartmeet (SX 672 732). Badger's Holt car park. Meet by toilets/information board. Bus service 272.  The bus stop is at the entrance to this car park
[12] Dunnabridge (SX 641 746). Car park on south of road, 2.5 miles (4km) from Dartmeet towards Two Bridges on B3357.   Bus service 272.  This is a hail and ride service with the location between Two Bridges and Dartmeet.
[13] Fernworthy Reservoir (SX 669 838). Car park with toilets.
[14] Fingle Bridge (SX 743 898) Car park on South side of bridge (South East of Drewsteignton).
[15] Haytor lower car park (SX 765 771). Car park with information centre and toilets, below the rocks on the B3387 Bovey Tracey – Widecombe-in-the-Moor road. For an interactive visit to Haytor visit www.virtuallydartmoor.org.uk   Bus service 271 (Haytor Hoppa) 270, 271, 274 and 193.  The official bus stop is outside the Moorlands Hotel however there is a request stop at the entrance to the car park with the Information centre
[17] Holne Court (SX 707 695). Follow signs for Holne Village centre then take Holne – Scorriton/Buckfastleigh road. First farm entrance on left hand side of road.
[18] Hound Tor (SX 739 792). Take B3387 Bovey Tracey –Widecombe road. ½ Mile from Hemsworthy Gate cattle grid take signed turning for Hound Tor.  Meet in large car park west of Tor.  For an interactive visit to Hound Tor visit www.virtuallydartmoor.org.uk   Bus service 271 (Haytor Hoppa)
[19] Ivybridge (park and ride)(SX 648 566). Ivybridge Park and Ride car park is signed from the main A38. Several bus services are available, please contact the information centre (01752 897035) or Traveline for details
[20] King's Oven (SX 675 810). 109 yards (100 metres) north east of Warren House Inn on B3212 Postbridge - Moretonhampstead road.   Bus Service 82.  This is a hail and ride service with the location between the Warren House Inn and Minature Pony Centre timetabled bus stops.  King's Oven car park is the last car park (approx 20 Metres) before the Warren House Inn as you head towards Postbridge.
[22] Lydford (SX 510 847). Signed off A386 Okehampton – Tavistock road meet in car park opposite castle. Bus Services 118 and 187.  Use the Memorial Bus stop which is 300-400 yards from this car park.
[56] Lydford High Down (SX 525 853) Off A386 Okehampton - Tavistock road (opposite Lydford turning) Meet In large car park along track beside Dartmoor Inn.   Bus Services 118 and 187.  The Dartmoor Inn is a timetabled bus stop for these services.
[52] Manaton (SX 749 811). Car park near Manaton church. Bus service 271 (Haytor Hoppa)Several bus services are available, please contact the information centre (01364 653426) or Traveline for details
[23] Meldon Reservoir (SX 561 917) Car park on approach road to dam.  Meet by information board.
[70] Meldon Woods (SX 566 930) Follow road from Okehampton, turning left towards Meldon Quarry at Betty Cottles Restaurant. Car park on right after crossing over dual carriageway.
[24] Merrivale (SX 560 748) Four Winds', large walled car park in trees on south side of B3357 Two Bridges - Tavistock road.   Bus service 272 and 98.  This car park is located between the Princetown and Merrivale timetabled bus stops.
[47] Moretonhampstead (SX 751 860). In Court street car park on B3212, (Moretonhampstead - Princetown road) meet by the Information board.   Bus Services 359, 82, 173, 178 and 179.  All these services stop in this car park. [25] Newbridge (SX 711 708). Car park by bridge , 4 miles (6km) west of Ashburton on the Ashburton – Dartmeet/Two Bridges Road.  Meet by the Information board.   Bus service 272.  This is a request bus stop between the River Dart Country Park and Poundsgate timetabled bus stops.
[78] Newton Abbot (SX 866 711). Railway Station. Several bus services are available, please contact the information centre (01626 215667) or Traveline for details
[107] North Bovey (SX 740 838) Meet in the public car park by the information board.
[26] Norsworthy Bridge (SX 567 693). Small car park at north east end of Burrator Reservoir.   Bus Service 48.  This location is the terminus of this bus service.
[28] Okehampton Moor (SX 596 922). Turn up Station/Torrs Road towards army camp and cross bridge at brook. Park at top of hill on the right at fork.   Bus Service X9, 187, 274, 279 and 318 will get you to Okehampton Station/Youth Hostel.  There is a walk to Okehampton Moor Gate, which will take 30-40 minutes
[65] Okehampton YH (SX 592 944) Turn up Station road and follow signs to Youth Hostel.  Meet outside Youth Hostel.   Bus Services X9, 187, 274, 279 and 318 will get you to Okehampton Station/Youth Hostel
[75] Okehampton Town (SX 587 951). From south A386 or Exeter A30, follow signs to town centre.  Meet at the Tourist Information Centre, Town Hall, Museum Courtyard. Several bus services are available, please contact the information centre (01837 53020) or Traveline for details The TIC is centrally located in the town - Just ask for the nearest bus stop.
[29] Parke (SX 805 784). National Park Head Quarters, Bovey Tracey.  Park & meet in visitors car park. Bus Service 271 (Haytor Hoppa) This is a hail and ride service and the route passes this location. Alternatively this is a 15 minute walk from Bovey Tracey where other services available please contact the information centre (01626 832047) or Traveline for details
[30] Pork Hill (SX 530 751). Large car park on south side of B3357 between Tavistock and Merrivale (shown as a viewpoint on the 1:25000 Explorer OL28 Map).   Bus Services 98 and 272.  This is a request bus stop between the Merrivale and Tavistock timetabled bus stops.
[31] Postbridge (SX 646 788). Car park by Information Centre on B3212. Meet in front of centre.  For an interactive visit to Postbridge visit www.virtuallydartmoor.org.uk   Bus Services 82 and 98.  The bus stop is located at the entrance to this car park.
[33] Prewley (SX 544 910). Car parking area up small track off A386 (signed Granite Way), 3/4 mile (1km) north of Sourton village.
[32] Princetown (SX 589 735) Large car park in the town centre.  Meet in front of The High Moorland Visitor Centre.  For Beginners and Improvers Navigation courses meet in the centre. For an interactive visit to Princetown visit www.virtuallydartmoor.org.uk   Bus Services 82 and 98.  The bus stops are located with in sight of the High Moorland Visitor Centre.
[34] Shapley Common (SX 698 834). Car park on north side of B3212 between Moretonhampstead and Postbridge (shown as a viewpoint on the 1:25000 Explorer OL28 Map).  If approaching from Moretonhampsted it is approx 2km from the Minature Pony Centre and is the first car park on your right after you cross the cattle grid.   Bus Service 82.  This is a hail and ride service with the location between the Minature Pony Centre and Warren House Inn timetabled bus stops.
[35] Sharpitor (SX 561 708). Most westerly car park of the two on the north side of B3212 between Yelverton and Princetown. Meet by Bus Stop.   Bus service 82.  This is a timtabled bus stop on this service
[36] Shaugh Bridge (SX 533 636). Car park near bridge on Shaugh prior to Bickleigh road.
[37] Shipley Bridge (SX 680 629). Car park 4 miles (6 km) from South Brent.  Follow signs for Shipley Bridge and Avon Dam.  Meet by the information board.
[61] South Brent (SX 697 603). Old station car park on road to Didworthy.   Bus service X38 and X80
[38] Steps Bridge (SX 802 883). Car park on Exeter to Moretonhampstead road 1 ½  km from Dunsford towards Moretonhampstead.   Bus Service 359 and 82.  This location is a timetabled bus stop.
[39] Sticklepath (SX 641 940). Car park in village at rear of Finch Foundry Museum, under narrow arch.   Bus Services X9, 179, 510, 670 and 671  The bus stop is within site of Finch Foundry
[76] Tavistock Town (SX 482 744). Meet at the Tourist Information Centre, Town Hall, Bedford Square.   Several bus services are available, please contact the information centre (01822 612938) or Traveline for details  The TIC is centrally located in the town - Just ask for the nearest bus stop.
[6] Trenchford Reservoir Car Park (Bullaton Cross) (SX 804 823). Trenchford reservoir car park on Hennock road at southern edge of Trenchford reservoir.
[40] Trendlebere Down (SX 784 793). Two miles (3km) north west of Bovey Tracey on the road to Becky Falls and Manaton.  Park and meet in carpark over cattlegrid on right hand side.   Bus Service 271 (Haytor Hoppa)  This location is the timetabled bus stop.
[41] Two Bridges (SX 609 750). Quarry car park opposite Two Bridges Hotel on the B3212.   Bus Service 82, 98 and 272.  This location is a timetabled stop for these services.
[42] Venford Reservoir (SX 685 712). Car park with toilets west of dam on the Holne – Hexworthy road.  Meet by the information board.
[44] Wray Cleave (SX 770 842). Entrance adjacent to black barn, third of a mile (½ km) south from Wray Barton.
[53] Widecombe-in-the-Moor (SX 719 768). Main car park with toilets near the Green.  Meet by Information board.   Bus service 271 (Haytor Hoppa) 270, 272 and 274.
[43] Willsworthy (SX 518 834). Car park on east side of A386, 3 miles (5km) north of Mary Tavy.   Bus Services 187 and 118
[45] Yarner Wood (SX 784 788). Entrance on Bovey Tracy to Manaton Road, 2 miles (4km) from Bovey Tracey.  Meet in car park.   Bus service 271 (Haytor Hoppa).  This bus service passes this location and is a hail and ride service.
[54] Yelverton (SX 521 678). Meet in church car park by roundabout, entrance off the A386 Roborough/Plymouth road.   Bus services X85, 55, 56, 98, 82 and 48
