Dartmoor Audio Walks
Want to know a bit about Dartmoor, but haven’t got the time to join a Guided Walk? Then why not download one of our new audio walks for Bellever, Haytor, Postbridge or Princetown onto your mp3/iPod and enjoy a walk with a difference, when it suits you!
The Bellever Audio Walk is a 6 mile (10km) circular walk starting from Postbridge Information Centre and gives a mixture of woodland, moorland and riverside walking, intersperced with several archaeological sites, learning about the Dartmoor Pony and fantastic views.
The Haytor Audio Walk is a 6.3 mile (10 km) walk starting from the newly-built Haytor Information Centre and offers stunning views over a changing landscape, as well as a flavour of Dartmoor’s cultural heritage.
The Postbridge Audio Walk is a 6 mile (10km) circular walk, starting from the Postbridge Information Centre and includes far-reaching views from Hartland Tor, historical remains from Dartmoor's industrial past and a stunning waterfall.
The Princetown Audio Walk is a 6 mile (10km) circular walk starting from the High Moorland Visitor Centre, taking you across moorland to a waterfall and an aqueduct, past Bronze Age settlements and stone rows and back along the hard track of the disused railway line to see remains of the granite quarries.
As an added bonus, the accompanying music on the soundtrack - “Poor Man’s Heaven” - is courtesy of local Dartmoor folk musician, Seth Lakeman (reproduced by kind permission of Seth Lakeman and EMI).
