Sustainability Appraisal / Strategic Environmental Assessment
Sustainability Appraisal (SA) is a process which examines the social, environmental and economic effects of the strategies and policies in a local development document to ensure that the decisions that are made accord with sustainable development. SA incorporates the requirements of the Strategic Environmental Assessment Directive (EU Directive 2001/42/EC), which ensures that environmental effects of strategies and policies are also carefully assessed.
Land Use Consultants (LUC) have produced a Sustainability Appraisal / Strategic Environmental Assessment (SA/SEA) Report to inform the Core Strategy Development Plan Document of the Dartmoor National Park Local Development Framework. This report was used to help prepare the previous Core Strategy consultation documents (the 'Issues and Options Report') and the 'Preferred Options report'), the previous assessments are also available.
An updated version was prepared by LUC to inform the Core Strategy Submission Version and this remains valid for the Adopted Core Strategy.
These documents are presented in below.
