Development Management and Delivery Development Plan Document

Please note: This document is called the Generic Development Control and Site Specific Policies Development Plan Document in the Dartmoor National Park Authority’s Local Development Scheme: First Review (March 2007).

About this document

This development plan document will set out a suite of subject related (e.g. housing, employment, tourism) policies to advise and manage spatial development within Dartmoor National Park in the period up to 2026.  The document will also contain site specific policies to set the planning framework for particular areas and land uses.  It will add the necessary level of detail needed to ensure that the Core Strategy Development Plan Document  can be implemented effectively.

In March 2009, the National Park Authority published a set of consultation papers to start the process of preparing the document. The consultation period ran to 15 May 2009. Those documents are entitled:

Current Community Consultation

To provide an opportunity for local communities to come forward and talk with the Authority about needs and issues, a series of community consultation events have been being held in the larger settlements during June and July 2010 (an earlier event was held in Moretonhampstead in March 2010).  

A general form is available to download below, which invites comments on the key issues for any areas or settlements outside of the Local Centres.

Outcome of the Local Centre exhibitions

The input from local communities at this stage will inform a pre-submission document, with a formal stage of consultation due later in the year.  Public comments received from the events have now been collated and can be seen in the document below.
