Planning Applications

This section of Planning is where you will find information about Planning applications.

Application Fees

Under national legislation, the Authority must charge for the submission of planning applications. Full details of the current charges and advice notes are set out in the Scale of Fees Form 2008.

The Planning Portal includes a helpful Fee Calculator to assist you. Please click the following link to view this: Planning Portal Fee Calculator (external link, opens new window)

Application Validation

When a planning application is received, it is examined to ensure that the proposal does need permission and that the forms, plans, certificates and fee, where required, are in order. If necessary, the application will be returned for correction or further information.

Otherwise, it will be registered and an acknowledgement sent to the applicant or their nominated agent.

Further advice on making a planning application and the details that need to accompany it, can be found with the application forms available on this web site.

Additional details on this process are set out under 'When you make your application' in our Development Control Charter.
