Planning Application Forms (1APP)
The Dartmoor National Park Authority has now adopted the standard national planning application forms under the 1APP scheme. Applicants and agents are therefore requested to start using the new forms at the earliest opportunity.
It is a statutory requirement for all planning authorities to only accept 1APP standard forms from 6 April 2008. After this date, applications received on old application forms will be deemed invalid.
These forms are available to download and print below (to be completed offline). Alternatively online versions of the forms can be completed and submitted via the Planning Portal website (external link, opens in new window).
Application Forms
There are various application forms available depending on the type of permission you are seeking. 1APP provides forms that allow you to apply for more than one consent on a single form, for example full planning permission with listed building consent.
Please click on the links to download. All documents are in PDF format. Guidance notes for each of the forms can be found below.
Validation
The Authority is about to commence a consultation on the ‘local requirements’ that will be necessary for an application to be considered valid. Until this process has been completed, the National Requirements for an application will remain as the basis for a submission to be valid. Please also refer to the available advice notes.
National Requirements
The Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 1995 requires, as a minimum, that an application for planning permission should:
- be made in writing (paper or electronic application) to the Local Planning Authority (LPA) on a form published by the Secretary of State (or a form which is substantially the same);
- include the particulars specified in the form and be accompanied by a plan which identifies the land to which it relates and any other plans and drawings or information necessary to describe the development which is the subject of the application; these must be drawn to an identified scale and, in the case of plans, show the direction of North;
- for paper applications, include three copies of the form (or fewer if indicated). No additional copies are required if the application is made electronically via the Planning Portal website.
- include the original plus three copies of the plans, drawings and information (or fewer if indicated). No additional copies are required if the application is made electronically via the Planning Portal website.
- be accompanied by any certificate or documents required by the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 or by the GPDO 1995;
- include any fee required to be paid in respect of the application. Lodging a cheque for the correct fee is taken as payment; and
- be accompanied by a design and access statement, if required.
