At this site click on Surveys to see all recent unpublished work on Devon lichens. It is likely that this site will be regularly updated.

Research interests:

Lichen ecology on Dartmoor; recent changes in lichen communities, bio indication using lichens, the colonisation of metalliferous mine spoil and the aquatic lichens of Dartmoor's major watercourses.

Completed projects and/or published work relevant to Dartmoor:

Current projects include a comparative long-term study at Grendon, Dartmoor, of treated versus untreated timbers used for fencing needs, to see whether there are significant differences in the species mix and rate of lichen colonisation on the different products. Currently resurveying Blackingstone Tor and Belever Tor to compare with results obtained in Giavarini (1990).
