What is it?

The Hill Farm Project is a project set up by Dartmoor National Park Authority to help ensure a viable future for Dartmoor farmers by supporting them through collaborative activities, facilitation in developing ideas, provision of advice, guidance on training opportunities,  and identifying sources of funding.

The Dartmoor Hill Farm Project was set up in November 2003, as  a result of recommendations set out in  State of Farming on Dartmoor 2002, a  research project undertaken by the Centre for Rural Research at the University of Exeter.  The project is run by Dartmoor National Park Authority with funding support from the Duchy of Cornwall. The National Park Authority has recently been successful in obtaining additional funding through the Rural Development Agency (RDA). Funding available through the RDA will support projects that meet the broad objectives of the South West’s Rural Development Plan.
