Community Enhancement Grant Scheme
The National Park Authority supports a number of community based projects each year. This support can come in the form of contributing officer time and expertise and/or as financial assistance, specifically where the projects will also help to support National Park purposes such as conservation of the environment or by helping to increase public access, understanding or enjoyment of Dartmoor’s special qualities.
If you have a project or scheme that you think may benefit from assistance then please contact Senior Planning Officer (Community) to discuss. See below for further guidance and the application form, and also a few examples of projects that we have helped recently.

Ilsington Parish Church

The access path leading up the main entrance door to the church was in a poor state or repair, being uneven, narrow and therefore difficult for the less mobile to negotiate easily. The PCC approached us to see if we could help to improve access in a way that would not be detrimental to the setting of this Grade 1 listed building. It was agreed that the Authority's Works Team would undertake the scheme and would level and relay the path with conservation paving. The opportunity was also taken to improve lighting and access up to the grassed graveyard area. The PCC were asked to make a 10% contribution towards the cost of the scheme.
Lustleigh Village Hall
Following a village appraisal, it was decided that it was time to replace Lustleigh’s old, weather worn village hall with a new building to meet the new and changing needs of the community. A traditionally designed slate and rendered building was agreed. Dartmoor National Park Authority offered grant aid towards the additional cost of incorporating a natural slate roof and natural granite keystones above the windows.
