Sectors
In order to carry out daily management tasks and maintain good links with the community and visiting public, Dartmoor National Park Rangers are assigned specific Sectors in which to work. The 368 square mile (954 square kilometre) National Park is divided into nine Sectors, each having an individual community based Ranger. The main responsibilities and priorities vary slightly but, supported by Assistant Rangers, they are all an identifiable presence representing the National Park Authority on the ground. Each Sector Ranger is supported by local Voluntary Wardens, who assist with community based projects.
