Register of Member's Interests
The Local Government Act (2000) requires that the Authority establishes and maintains a Register of Interests for all Members and Independent Members. Members are required to register any interests they have which may cause conflict with their role as a Member of the Authority. An interest is any matter such as ownership of land or a company or membership of a group or club which may influence the Member’s judgement.
Member’s must notify the Authority’s Monitoring Officer of any changes to their interests within 28 days of the change taking place.
There is a standing item on every Authority agenda headed ‘Declaration of Interest’. This item reminds Members of their responsibility to declare any personal and/or prejudicial interest which they may have in an item of business on the agenda.
Where Members have given their permission, interests are available to view on line in the Register of Member's Interests
(PDF help 50 kb).
The complete version of the Register of Member's Interests is available to view at the Authority’s headquarters at Parke, Bovey Tracey during office hours.
