Tom is a retired farmer born in Christow to a farming family who have farmed in the area for over 300 years. Tom farmed in partnership with his brother with beef, sheep and corn being the main part of the business covering 330 acres. In 1999 Tom was elected as a member of Teignbridge District Council, and represented the Teign Valley Ward for 8 years. Tom was also on the Executive and was Portfolio Holder for Economy and Tourism for the last 4 years until retiring from the Council in May 2007.
Tom is a member of Christow Parish Council and is also a Trustee of Chernobyl Aid Devon. In his spare time Tom enjoys playing bowls and walking. He has also been Captain of Christow Bell Ringers for 40 years |
