The Dartmoor Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP)
The Dartmoor Biodiversity Action Plan has been produced by the Dartmoor National Park Authority, with financial assistance from English Nature (now Natural England), on behalf of the Dartmoor Biodiversity Steering Group. It outlines the objectives, targets and actions considered necessary to protect and enhance the wildlife heritage of Dartmoor over 10 years from 2001 to 2010. The Dartmoor Biodiversity Action Plan underwent its five-yearly review in 2007. Targets that have been achieved and actions that have been completed have been updated in the action plan. New targets and actions were added. The action plan is a companion document to The Nature of Dartmoor: A Biodiversity Profile (published by the Dartmoor National Park Authority and English Nature (now Natural England)), which describes the wildlife resource of Dartmoor, identifies key species and habitats and sets key conservation objectives. Dartmoor Woodlands Strategy
The Dartmoor Woodland Strategy has been developed in consultation with a range of partners, woodland owners, managers, the timber industry and voluntary sector to act as a guide for those who derive their livelihood from trees, woodlands and timber and those employed to protect landscape, access, biodiversity and cultural features. Traffic Management Strategy
In 1991, the National Parks Review Panel recommended that explicit policies for traffic management and for public transport in National Parks should be prepared by NPAs jointly with highway authorities, and experimental traffic management initiatives should be introduced. The Dartmoor National Park Traffic Management Strategy was prepared jointly by Devon County Council and the Dartmoor National Park Authority. Following two rounds of public consultation, the Strategy was adopted as policy and published in 1994. It broke new ground, being the first such Traffic Management Strategy prepared for a National Park, and has formed the basis for successful annual bids for government 'transport package' funding.

Since 1994, many of the proposals have been tried and succeeded, others have been tried and failed, but the Strategy remains the current policy framework from which further traffic management policies will be developed. The publication is now out of print but remains a valuable reference document and a source for study.

Traffic Management Strategy - Review of Priorities for 2005-2011

The Dartmoor National Park Authority and Devon County Council produced a Traffic Management Strategy for the National Park in 1994.  In all works associated with the above, the strategy made it clear that they should be carried out in ways that maintain and where possible enhance the quality of the National Park environment. As an outcome from the Best Value Review of the National Park Authority’s traffic and transport functions, an update of the strategy was carried out jointly by the Authority and Devon County Council. That exercise concluded that while progress had been made on implementing the strategy since 1994, its essential aims remained valid but a fresh look at priority areas for action over the next 6 years would be helpful to advise future work programmes and the next Devon Local Transport Plan.

The ICT Strategy 2008 – 2013 provides aims and objectives for the delivery of ICT within the Authority during that period.

In particular it details :

•the Strategic aims which will support the delivery of ICT over the next five years;
•the systems currently in use and those which are planned for the future, providing short, medium and long-term aims for each;
•the policies which relate to the delivery of ICT which are currently in place and which are planned for introduction, and provides a revision schedule to ensure they are kept relevant and up-to-date;
•how the service will be managed and potential staffing requirements.

This document provides a clear and concise list of the actions detailed in the delivery document.  It is updated biannually, and used for monitoring progress against the Strategy.
