News from Dartmoor National Park saves paper

Subscribe to Dartmoor National Park Authority News Releases and Community News online and help the National Park Authority in its efforts to save paper.

From Tuesday 1 August 2006 Dartmoor National Park Authority will be issuing paper copies of all its News Releases and Community News on request only.

On average, Dartmoor National Park Authority issues 45 - 50 News Releases and 4 Community News each year, and in doing so uses about 130,000 sheets of paper.

Dartmoor National Park Authority strives to be environmentally responsible in its business activities and operates a dedicated email service for anyone wishing to keep up to date with the latest news from the Authority. This enables speedy and efficient communications and reduces the need for paper copies only to those with no access to computer technology.   

If you have access to the internet you can receive an email notification every time a News Release or Community News is issued by the Authority.  All you have to do is visit www.dartmoor-npa.gov.uk click on About us / In the News and enter your email address in the subscribe box provided.

There is no charge for this service.

By receiving email News Releases and Community News, you will not just be helping the environment. It saves money, and will benefit you and your organisation by speeding up the communications process. You will get the latest information well before a hard copy could arrive by post. You will be able to link directly to a range of related information, share the information with others by email, or copy text directly to your computer.

Agendas for full Dartmoor National Park Authority meetings and Dartmoor National Park Authority Development Control Committee meetings are also available on the Authority's web site www.dartmoor-npa.gov.uk. Click on About us/ Meetings of the Authority.  These Agendas are placed on the Authority’s web site 7 days in advance of the meetings.

Because of potential on-going media staff changes the National Park Authority will issue a reminder on its web site every three months.  If you are a News Editor you can help by instructing existing and new staff to subscribe online.
