The exhibition, Jen Bryant’s Perfect Dartmoor will showcase images in both black and white and colour and will run until Wednesday 21 January 2009. Jen’s images will be on sale during the exhibition providing an opportunity to buy that special gift for lovers of Dartmoor’s breathtaking landscape.

Jen Bryant, said:

‘In 2000 I decided to learn how to use a 35mm camera properly so enrolled on a City & Guilds Photography course one evening a week. This taught me the basics of how to manually use a camera and then how to develop and print my own black and white images. I knew then that this was something I really enjoyed and became just a little obsessed.’

‘I have enjoyed walking on Dartmoor for over 20 years. When I took up photography, the most natural thing to do was to combine my two hobbies. I started off by taking mostly black and white images, but am increasingly using colour. All of my black and white work is processed and hand printed by myself in my own darkroom. My colour work is made up of prints taken from transparencies, which are processed and printed for me.  I hope you enjoy this glimpse of my perfect Dartmoor as much as I have enjoyed capturing the images for this exhibition.’

The High Moorland Visitor Centre is open daily from 10 am until 4 pm. Princetown is accessible by public transport. For public transport information telephone Traveline on 0871 200 22 33.

National Parks cover 10% of the land area of England, Wales and Scotland.  They are of special value to the whole nation because of their great beauty, their wildlife and cultural interests and the opportunities they offer for quiet enjoyment.  However, they are not nationally owned - the land is in the hands of many landowners or occupiers including farmers.  Over 33,500 people live inside the Dartmoor National Park and many millions of visits are made to it each year.
