Dartmoor Access Forum

Access forum training day

The Dartmoor Local Access Forum is an independent advisory body which was established by the Dartmoor National Park Authority in November 2002. Its purpose is to give advice to the National Park Authority and other organisations, on how to make the countryside of Dartmoor more accessible and enjoyable for open air recreation, in ways which address environmental, social and economic interests.

The Forum normally meets, in public, four times each year.  Details of past meetings are to be found below, together with information about the Forum and its members.

Meetings are normally held at the National Park Headquarters at Bovey Tracey on the first Tuesday of March, June, September and December.  The agenda for each forthcoming meeting will be posted on the website one week before the meeting, and a copy is also available to view at the National Park Headquarters.

Members of the Forum are appointed for a period of three years.  One third of the places on the Forum come up for renewal each year, and the recruitment process starts in September.
